There many things that you should configure in Account Settings. To start lets explain how to navigate to Account Settings.
- Navigate to the Main Menu
- On the top right you will see the Gear icon which is Account Settings.
Here can configure a whole host of things which include the following:
a. Account Details
Here you can change your phone number, email address, change password, and restore your subscription.
b. Alert Settings
Here, paid plan subscribers can get notified when people they are connected to on Serendipity are nearby. You can adjust the distance away from you in which you get notified.
c. Notification Settings
Serendipity sends you messages about your connections, chats, groups, your location settings on the app, events, drop a pin and place alerts. You can manage all of these things from here.
d. Intelligent Alerts
Paid plan subscribers can choose to toggle this on to not get notified about the same people nearby every day.
e. Open for Dating
This is a simple on or off button and if its on, your profile will say that you are open for dating. If it is set to off, that text will not show up.
f. Measurement System
By default users in the United States are set to the imperial system so they will see distances in miles. All other countries are set to the Metric system and distances will be shown in kilometers.
g. Face Login
If you login and logout a lot you can choose to turn on Face ID so the next time you login you can set that up and will no longer have to enter your password to login. Please note that each time you logout, your connections will not be able to view your real time location.
h. Account Data Security
This is where you can adjust your settings for our data sales. To help offset our costs for the free plan, we sell anonymized geolocation data of our users. This is where you can turn those settings off and then we will not be able to sell your anonymized data. We ask all users to please consider helping us by setting this to On so we can continue to offer our free plan option.
i. Language
The app will be downloaded into whatever language you chose on your phone when you first received your phone. But we offer our users the ability to change the text of the app by clicking on languages and choosing whatever language they would like the app to display.
