We create the Events Functionality so that for one day events, people can easily track each others location at the event. This is great to use for when people meet up at a restaurant, or really any event where you and a group of people are all meeting up at a specific time. This Events Feature will allow you to get notifications everytime someone arrives or leave the event.
families that go away for say a vacation or to an amusement park, may want to easily be able to track just the people in that group. We make it super simple to create a group to be able to do this which then transforms the main Map, Radar & List View Screens into only show the people in your group.
To Create a Group simply do the following:
- Navigate to the Main Menu
- Click on Events
- On the bottom left click on the + icon
- On the next screen simply add your event picture, enter in a name for your event, enter in the event's location, enter in the start and end date and time and you can add a simple explanation of the event.
- If this event is only for a select number of your friends and family, choose the Private Event option and if its open for anyone to join, you can choose Public, in which case anyone can search to find this event on Serendipity.
- Now just add all the people you want to join in the event. You can add them from your connections list or you can add them from a prior group or you can invite anyone new with just their phone number.
- Once this is done, click Create Event and your event will be created.
- Everyone you invite will receive an invitation to join the event and they must all accept to join the event.
- The person who created the event is the Admin of the group who can always add and remove group members and who can also delete the event.
NOTE: Everyone in the event can leave at anytime. This event can only last for a maximum of 24 hours and you will be able to see peoples location on the map for this period of time. After this event ends, the event is closed and nobody will be able to view each others location who they are not connected with.
Here is a video that fully describes how to setup Events.
