We create the Groups Functionality so that families that go away for say a vacation or to an amusement park, may want to easily be able to track just the people in that group. We make it super simple to create a group to be able to do this which then transforms the main Map, Radar & List View Screens into only show the people in your group.
To Create a Group simply do the following:
- Navigate to the Main Menu
- Click on Groups
- On the bottom left click on the + icon
- On the next screen simply add your group picture, enter in a name for your group, enter in a location for the starting point of the group, enter in the start and end date and time and you can add a simple explanation of the group.
- If this Group is only for a select number of your friends and family, choose the Private Group option and if its open for anyone to join, you can choose Public, in which case anyone can search to find this group on Serendipity.
- Now just add all the people you want to join in the group. You can add them from your connections list or you can add them from a prior group or you can invite anyone new with just their phone number.
- Once this is done, click Create Group and your group will be created.
- Everyone you invite will receive an invitation to join the group and they must all accept to join the group.
- The person who created the group is the Admin of the group who can always add and remove group members and who can also delete the group.
NOTE: Everyone in the group can leave at anytime. And anyone in the group who is not connected to each other and is under 18 years of age, cannot message in the group chat for privacy reasons.
Here is a video that fully describes how to setup Groups.
